Dog Grooming:
For small breeds or mid-sized breeds that do have thick hair or require a complicated clip or scissor work: grooming costs about $50 to $60. Examples include the Bichon Frise, Miniature Poodle, Maltese, Cocker Spaniel Shitzu, Lhasa Apso.
For mid-sized breeds, or larger breeds that do not have thick hair or require a complicated cut, grooming costs about $50 to $80. Examples include the Greyhound, Bloodhound, Cane Corso, Labrador and Golden Retriever.
For mid-to-large-sized breeds that have thick hair and require complicated cuts, or giant breeds, grooming costs about $80 to $125 and up. Examples include the Standard Poodle, Bernese Mountain Dog, Bouvier Des Flandre, Briard, Samoyeds, Chow Chow, and Great Pyrenees.
Bath-only grooming -- this includes shampoo, conditioning, ear cleaning and nail trimming (we dremel nails), anal glands, and hand air forced dried (we do not cage dry) -- on a non-matted dog costs less than full grooming. For mid-sized breeds, or larger breeds that do not have thick hair or require a complicated cut, grooming costs about $40 to $70. Examples include the Pug, Beagle, Labrador Retriever, Greyhound and Dalmatian.
Cats Standard Grooming:
Bath-only includes shampoo, conditioning, clean ears, clip nails, and hands fluff dried. Trim feet fit, clip or comb out mats if necessary, Typical costs for well behaved/unmatted cats $60-$80; matted non/behavior challenging cats $80-$100 and lion cut clipping well behaved/unmatted $80-$100; matted non/behavior challenging cats $100-$125.
Average grooming prices tend to be about 25 percent higher in the Northeast region of the country than in the Midwest, with the rest of the country falling in between, according to www.PetGroomer.com
Additional Costs:
De-matting for long hair costs about $50 an hour.
For $10 extra, a groomer will use flea-killing shampoo or skin-soothing colloidal oatmeal shampoo or do a hot oil treatment.
For about $50-100 depending on size and coat extra, a groomer will remove skunk odor.
For about $10 to 20 extra, a groomer will brush teeth.
Hand scissoring, which is time consuming, costs between $20 and $30 more than using clippers, depending on the size of the dog. It offers a different look.

Groomers usually require that vaccinations are up to date.
We appreciate being told ahead of time if the dog is geriatric or has health problems or behavior issues.
We are experienced in handling problem dogs, though many groomers will not accept aggressive dogs. This type of dog comes under our special pricing.
A puppy groom can cost as little as $35, depending on size and type of breed. Trimming of feet only.
